Thank you. Nice to know someone's enjoying this; it's just not letting go of my brain, so I've got to keep writing it.
Just so you know, several things I've done in-story are either unlikely or flatly impossible in-game. Some of 'em depend on a twist that won't come out until much later in the story; suffice to say a starting character won't be able to do some of the things I've portrayed here. (For instance, while you can collect gecko meat from day one, you can't actually *cook* it until your Survival skill hits 25...which, admittedly, is pretty easy.) Others, like the lack of tires on anything but military trucks and motorcycles, are just plot holes I'm trying to fill in. (There are mods to allow you to drive, for instance, but in the basic game, you do a *lot* of walking.)
Some points, like the talk with Victor, and Ms. Cassidy getting thrown out of the Outpost, are absolutely *not* the way things go in the game, and I'm just using them for story purposes. The game itself is a *lot* of fun, and anyone who hasn't played it is missing a pretty good time.
