Help me, VURD, you're my only hope...
Jun. 15th, 2009 01:54 pmI'm throwing this one out to the Vast Unpaid Research Department, in hopes someone out there knows something about real estate and home renovation, and can help me make up my feeble mind.
I have an opportunity to buy a house. It's here in the small town in which I live; I like the area, so that's not a problem. It's a Fannie Mae forclosure; they're asking $39,900 for it. I checked with the Douglas County appraiser's office and the property valuation is $108,800; taxes for the year at the current mill levy are $1500. It's about 1600 square feet, two bedrooms, (the listing says three, but I disagree,), two baths.
